Khalil Hinson

Georgia State Coordinator

Khalil “ KJ” Hinson (he/him) is a 27-year-old organizer and a native of Atlanta, Georgia. KJ has spent the past five years assisting marginalized communities build power. Educating, activating, and advocating for the youth in particular. From the humble beginnings of doing voter registration at protests to hosting organizer training in South Africa, KJ has immersed himself in the work of community organizing and has been instrumental in several campaigns and initiatives. He was recently given a 30 under 30 award for nonprofit leaders in Atlanta. KJ is eagerly looking forward to working as the Georgia state coordinator and continuing the work of building power for the youth and helping institutions foster more impactful voter education and outreach. For far too long have we ignored the strength of exercising our civic duties with solidarity. KJ believes that we must be the ones to innovate democracy because no one is coming to save us. KJ’s passions for the work are fueled by his two children and track days on his motorcycle.
