A native of Connecticut, Dominique is a New Englander at heart. She graduated from Barry University with a bachelor’s degree in history and a minor in political science. At Barry, she served as the vice president of the student government association and as a Barry Service Corps Fellow, starting a one-of-a-kind service learning project recovering surplus food from the dining hall and donating it to a nonprofit organization in the community. After graduating, she went on to work for Food Recovery Network (FRN) which is the largest student movement fighting food waste and feeding people. In her time at FRN she worked with prospective students to establish food recovery programs on their campuses and supported students with leadership recruitment and transitions. Most recently, Dominique was at a fellow nonpartisan organization, ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge, helping campus staff to institutionalize nonpartisan democratic engagement. Alongside her work with campuses in the southeast U.S., she had a portfolio of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) meeting monthly for a community of practice. She is excited to support HBCUs in a greater capacity and hopes to build meaningful relationships with students and staff at HBCUs across the country.
