Beauregard William Patterson serves as Counsel with Fair Elections Center. Prior to joining the Center, Beauregard served as an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Wisconsin representing the state in constitutional and election litigation as well as civil appeals. He previously worked four years as a civil rights lawyer with Pines Bach LLP in Madison, WI, where he acted as special counsel for Wisconsin’s Governor Evers in multiple lawsuits concerning constitutional separation of powers. During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Beauregard helped extend the Wisconsin deadline to receive absentee ballots by mail, which secured nearly 80,000 absentee voters’ right to have their ballots counted in the April 2020 election. Additionally, he’s twice argued cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit on constitutional issues involving the Fourth, Eighth, and Fourteenth Amendments. Beauregard earned his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School, and his B.A., cum laude, in Political Science and History from Carroll University (formerly Carroll College). He is admitted to practice law in the State of Wisconsin and is a member of the bar for the following courts: U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, and U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
